| Reg category | 🟢 LSA-clear, FCA-CMC-clear. We produce OPG forms; the user signs, submits, and registers. |

BCustomer input — what we ask the user
B.1The conversation shape
~12–18 minutes per LPA. The two LPAs (P&F and H&W) share most input fields — running both together saves 50% on time. Save-and-resume essential because choosing attorneys is emotionally complex.
B.2The fields we collect
Section A — About you (the donor)
- Full legal name, address, DOB, marital status required
- Which LPA(s)? required — P&F / H&W / Both
Section B — Your attorneys
- How many (1–4)? required
- For each: full name, address, DOB, relationship required
- How should they act? conditional — Jointly / Jointly and severally / Some joint, some several
Section C — Replacement attorneys (strongly recommended)
- Up to 4 replacements, with order required
Section D — Instructions and preferences
- Specific instructions recommended — things attorneys MUST do or NOT do
- Preferences optional — things attorneys SHOULD take into account
Section E — When the LPA should start (P&F only)
- Immediately on registration / Only on loss of capacity required
Section F — Life-sustaining treatment (H&W only)
- Authority for life-sustaining decisions? required — Yes / No
Section G — Certificate provider
- Name and address required — known you 2+ years OR professional (GP, solicitor)
Section H — People to be notified (optional)
- Up to 5 people the OPG will notify on registration optional
B.3Evidence & verification
- ID verification at sign-off (same flow as Will G3).
- Mental capacity self-affirmed by donor; certificate provider attests (third party — not us).
- OPG registration is the user's responsibility. We provide forms, fee guidance, submission checklist. We never submit on behalf.
B.4Branching & edge cases
- Both LPAs, simple attorney structure — ~50%
- Single LPA only — ~20%
- Mirror pair — ~20%
- Joint-and-several multi-attorney — ~5%
- Business owner with continuity instructions — ~5%, complexity flag
B.5Drop-off risks
- Choosing attorneys. Biggest drop-off. Mitigation: helper text on attorney choices; "change anytime before signing."
- Certificate provider question. Users don't know who qualifies. Mitigation: 2-line explainer.
- Life-sustaining treatment question. Emotionally weighty. Mitigation: plain-English explanation.
- The OPG £82 fee. Some users baulk. Mitigation: explain it's OPG's fee, not ours; show waiver criteria.
CProduct output — what the customer receives
C.1The deliverable
For each LPA: the completed OPG form (LP1F or LP1H, pixel-accurate against OPG templates) + LegalHelp Cover Sheet + Signing & Submission Instructions + (optional) People-to-be-notified letters.
See the Specimen Output at the bottom: Patricia Mitchell, 64, recently diagnosed with early Parkinson's, makes a Property & Financial LPA with her two adult children as joint-and-several attorneys.
C.2Document mock-up — skeleton
Section 1 — The donor Your details Section 2 — The attorneys Names, addresses, how they decide Section 3 — Replacement attorneys (if any) Section 4 — Your instructions Section 5 — Your preferences Section 6 — Life-sustaining treatment (H&W only) Option A: Yes, my attorneys can make this decision Option B: No, only I can make this decision Section 7 — When the LPA starts (P&F only) Option A: As soon as it's registered Option B: Only when I can't make decisions myself Section 8 — Your certificate provider Section 9 — People to be notified (optional) Section 10 — Signatures Donor (witnessed) Certificate provider (no witness) Attorneys (witnessed)

ECompliance guardrails
E.1Why this is 🟢
LPAs are statutory instruments registered with the OPG. We produce the form; the user signs and submits. Not a reserved activity under LSA 2007. Co-op, Kwil, Farewill all do it. The key risk is OPG submission — we never submit on the user's behalf. Some competitors do; we don't, because it crosses into agency territory.
E.2User-as-actor framing
- We draft the LPA form from inputs.
- A named solicitor reviews for completeness.
- The user signs; the attorneys sign; the certificate provider signs separately.
- The user submits to the OPG with the £82 fee.
- The OPG decides on registration.
- The user's attorneys act when the LPA becomes effective.
E.3What the AI does NOT do
- Does not assess donor capacity (certificate provider does).
- Does not register the LPA with the OPG.
- Does not act as attorney.
- Does not provide bespoke advice on complex LPA structures.
- Does not handle OPG correspondence.
E.4Required disclosures
This LPA has been generated from your inputs and reviewed by [Reviewer name]. It has no legal effect until: (1) signed by the donor, certificate provider, and attorneys in the required order; and (2) registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (£82 fee per LPA, payable to the OPG). LegalHelp is not a law firm and does not register your LPA on your behalf.
E.5Danger words
- "We'll register your LPA" — we don't
- "Instant LPA" — registration takes 8–10 weeks
- "Skip the OPG" — never; registration is mandatory
- "Take over your parent's affairs" — never; the donor decides
- "Guaranteed registration" — OPG can refuse

GBuild dependencies & open questions
G.1What we need before launch
- OPG form-rendering engine (LP1F + LP1H pixel-accurate). Owner: Pablo.
- Certificate provider validation helper. Owner: Pablo.
- Reviewer panel capacity. Owner: Ed + panel.
- Compliance copy sign-off. Owner: Ed.
- Content programme (8 articles). Owner: Rachel + Jemima.
G.2Open questions
- OPG fee waiver flow. ~30% of users may qualify. Worth specific waiver-application support?
- People-to-be-notified mechanic. "We'll email your nominated people when LPA is signed (not registered — that's OPG's job)"?
- OPG submission upsell. Partner with SRA-regulated firm for £30–40 submission? Phase 2.
- Reviewer panel volume. Likely 2x Will G3 because of Will cross-sell.
